Tappet Adjuster Screws with Hex Key Drive

It has become apparent that this type of adjuster screw is more likely to shear if the locking nut is over torque'd compared with a slotted screw.

ALL owners must replace hex drive with slotted adjusters ASAP, this is particularly important if you are not the first owner and therefore do not know previous adjuster history.

ST Aviation Ltd will supply their customers with slotted adjuster screws free of charge subject to hex screws being returned along with a copy of your log book entry after fitting slotted screws. Not returning log entry and old screws will lead to an invoice being raised

This is a compulsory update so do not put if off, even if your existing hex screws have flown ok for hundreds of hours.

Remember any type of screw will shear if overtorqued, if you are not sure ask your local PFA inspector or aircraft engineer to demonstrate the required procedure, they will be happy to set a good example.
