We see the Jabiru UL-D as a
go anywhere distance crunching aircraft that is ideally suited to Microlight
flying schools. It is very economical to run and with reliability proven in
the 2 seater aircraft which has been flying now for 15 years. The Certified
UL-D is the culmination of a major certification program taking lessons
learnt over 15 years and bringing them together into a very refined training
Microlight. Many changes were made including winglets, two inch wider doors,
newly designed engine cowlings and refined performance enhancements all
round. Moving the fuel into the wings increased the capacity to 70L and the
incorporation of a header tank added 6L and allows all of the wing tanks
capacity to be used making a total of 76 litres. Two level sensors are fitted
into the header and illuminate a warning lamp on the instrument panel should
the fuel level ever get that low. In turn this created a voluminous luggage
area behind the seats, making it much easier to load and go touring. Low
maintenance fibreglass construction means less time in the workshop and lower
outgoings at permit renewal time. As there is no fabric covering to worry
about and the aircraft is painted it will happily live outside if hangerage
is not available. The engine is a 85hp purpose-built horizontally opposed air
cooled four cylinder power unit with dual ignition systems and hydraulic
valve lifters. It is direct drive, fitted with a silencer and provides smooth
quiet effortless power for minimal operating cost.
Why go for a Jab?
Fibreglass
construction hence no potential long term corrosion or stress cracking issues
More mph for
your ££ than any other microlight.
World speed
record holder for 3 axis microlights.
Performance
figures stated are proven in UK customer aircraft rather than 'test'
aircraft.
Proven direct
drive 85bhp Jabiru 2200 engine with realistically priced spares.
Safe handling
characteristics from a design that has been refined over 15 years of ongoing
development. Proven passenger safety cell in the event of a crash. When
considering other aircraft think “How protected am I if the aircraft ends up
upside down, is there protection and can I get out”.
Modern look
and feel for flying school fleets, attract new students and compete with the
group “A” schools by training on a sleek modern aircraft that has a roomier
cabin than traditional trainers and out performs them in cruise, take-off,
climb and economy.
Approval Status
The UL-D is fully approved in the UK by the CAA, meaning it can be used for
Microlight flight training.
What’s included?
The Jabiru UL-D is supplied ready to fly, complete with engine, silencer,
